SLAS2020 will be held at the San Diego Convention Center located at 111 Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101.

SLAS has partnerships in place with the following hotels and service providers in order to provide conference exhibitors the best rates and convenience.

Individual Hotel Reservations

SLAS has partnerships in place with the following hotels and service providers in order to provide conference the best rates and convenience. SLAS has negotiated discounted rates at three hotels. While the hotel rates include a rebate to SLAS to help offset the costs of the Convention Center rental, in order to keep registration costs down, the negotiated rates are below standard guest rates quoted at the hotels if you are using the SLAS group discount site or code.

All hotels are adjacent to or across the street from the San Diego Convention Center. The Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina hotel is headquarters and is closest to the Convention Center where SLAS2020 will be held and adjacent to the convention center via walkway.

The deadline for booking hotel accommodations at the negotiated SLAS2020 rate is December 26, 2019. Bookings made after this date will receive the group rate based only on individual hotel availability.

Additionally, you are helping the Society meet its contractual obligations to the hotels, avoid penalties and help to underwrite the cost of convention center rental, therefore keeping conference registration fees as affordable as possible. Your support of booking your room within the SLAS2020 guest room block is greatly appreciated.

Warning about unaffiliated hotels and third-party booking agencies...

Please be aware that exhibitors often are solicited by unaffiliated hotels or third-party housing agencies to book hotel reservations. SLAS2020.org is the only official booking agency and any solicitations or communications regarding hotel bookings from non-SLAS employees should not be considered valid. When SLAS is notified of these solicitations, we immediately demand a cease and desist of such practices.

These groups often advertise a lower rate than is promoted by SLAS for the official SLAS2020 hotels. In some circumstances these reservations have non-refundable or pre-payment requirements and harsh and unforgiving cancellation policies. In some cases, reservations do not even exist at the time of check-in at the booked hotel. For these reasons, and to support SLAS official partners, which helps to ensure a quality experience, we encourage you to book your reservations through the processes outlined on this website.

Rates and fees above apply to each reservation booked using the group form and policies below.

Group hotel reservations (10 or more rooms) must be approved by SLAS and made through the hotel directly according to the following guidelines:

  • Groups must complete the Group Hotel Authorization Form and return it via fax to Colleen Campbell at +1-703-964-1246 no later than November 5, 2019.
  • The initial hotel block requested for SLAS2020 cannot be more than 10% above final pick up from SLAS2019, without group justification on why a larger block is being requested, such as larger booth contracted, additional poster presentations confirmed, additional speakers confirmed, more attendees registered, etc. This is subject to approval by SLAS at the time the authorization form is received.
  • This signed form, when received by SLAS and confirmed by the hotel, will constitute your official room block.
  • The total room nights contained in a group block reservation may be reduced by the group by up to 15% if received in writing to the hotel directly on or before November 5, 2019.
    • This date is known as the Final Adjustment Date.
    • Should a group room block reservation be placed after November 5, 2019 no reduction will be allowed and the block as reserved at the time of initial booking will be considered the final contracted block.
  • Should the room nights utilized — on a cumulative basis — after the Final Adjustment Date fall below 85% of the initial reservation (block), the group agrees to be financially responsible for the unused room nights in the group reservation block up to 85% of the final contracted block. Financial responsibility will be determined by SLAS, not the hotel. The Group will be invoiced by SLAS directly.
  • Should the Group cancel the group room block at any point after the final adjustment date, SLAS reserves the right to hold Group responsible for the total number of room nights reserved multiplied by the hotel room rates.
    • Cancellation is defined as the total non-use of the group room block.
    • Invoices will be sent immediately following the conference.
    • Payment will be due no later than thirty (30) days after date of invoice.
  • Early arrival/late departure dates may not be readily available, but SLAS will work with hotel to accommodate requests.
  • Hotel will confirm group reservation requests within 72 hours of approval by SLAS.
  • Reservations will not be accepted without a form of payment for guarantee of one night room and tax per room reserved. A deposit may be charged by the hotel directly prior to confirmation.
  • Hotel must receive names for each room (reservation) booked by November 5, 2019. Any rooms reserved without names after this date will be released for general sale.
  • Once confirmed by the hotel, group reservations should be modified by contacting the official conference hotel(s) directly:

Airport Transportation Information

Travel from San Diego International Airport (SAN) and the official SLAS Hotels and the San Diego Convention Center takes approximately 15 minutes. The following options are available in addition to standard rental car options:

San Diego Convention Center Parking

On-site private vehicle parking is available at the San Diego Convention Center's 1,950-vehicle underground garage located below the building. Enter the parking garage on Harbor Drive between 1st Ave. and 5th Ave.

  • The daily rate is $15. Parking rates may range from $15 to $35 on days when there is special event activity at Petco Park or other downtown events.
  • Payment is due upon entry and there are no in and out privileges.
  • There are 31 ADA compliant parking stalls with elevator access to the convention center.
  • No overnight or RV parking is permitted.
